Sunday November 16, 2010: SFC End-Of-Semester Updates

Hello Spartans!!

I would like to thank everyone that stopped by the GREAT AMERICAN SMOKEOUT yesterday on campus!!! SFC had an AWESOME time running the event and seeing all of you there! We would like to thank the ASMSU Funding Board for their VERY generous contribution to the event! Everything that was purchased for the Great American Smokeout was funded by the Funding Board! If you’d like more information about ASMSU and their services, check out asmsu.msu.edu!

Also, we were featured in the State News!! Our very own Meghan Vukorpa graced page 5A of the Weekend Edition of the paper today holding a “FREE CHICKEN!” sign for all to see!

While the Great American Smokeout is over, there are still a few important items to take away from it.

-Anyone can quit smoking! Don’t give up trying to quit! In fact, call 1-800-QuitNow for helpful information about how YOU can go smokefree!

Smoking on MSU’s campus:
-We successfully kicked off our petition campaign at GASO!
-Together, we can tell the MSU Police and the Administration that the ash trays need to move 25 feet away from the buildings and that the police need to start enforcing the 25-foot smoking law by issuing tickets! CLICK HERE to sign a digital copy of the petition!

Finally, our next Spartans Fighting Cancer general meeting is THIS MONDAY at 8pm in 115 International Center!!! Can’t make the meeting? Stop by Office Hours from 6pm-7:30pm to learn how to get involved with SFC!!!

Have a great weekend! I hope to see you all Monday!!!

Greg Dowdy
President, Spartans Fighting Cancer
